The short version
We collect the least we can get away with: enough to make your print, post it to you, and answer you if something goes wrong. We never sell your data. We only email marketing to people who tick the box.
Orders should be placed by a grown-up
This site is designed for children's drawings, but orders must be placed by someone aged 18 or over. We ask for a grown-up's email and address at checkout. Please don't let children enter personal details themselves — and only upload a drawing if the adult is happy for us to process it.
What we collect
- Order details — name, delivery address, email, and what you ordered.
- The drawing you upload — plus the 3D model we generate from it.
- Account details (optional) — your name, email and a securely hashed password. We never store your actual password.
- Marketing preference — only if you tick the box.
- Basic technical data — your IP address is used briefly for rate-limiting (stopping abuse) and appears in standard server logs.
We do not receive or store your card details. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe on their own secure pages.
Why we're allowed to use it (lawful basis)
- To fulfil your order — performance of a contract.
- To keep records and prevent abuse — our legitimate interests.
- To email you offers — your consent (the tick-box), which you can withdraw any time.
- To keep tax records — legal obligation.
Who we share it with
- Stripe — to take payment securely.
- Meshy — your uploaded drawing is sent to their AI service to generate the 3D model.
- Royal Mail / couriers — the delivery address, to post your parcel.
- Google — our 3D viewer loads from Google's servers, which see your device's requests like any website asset.
That's it. We don't sell or rent your details to anyone, ever.
How long we keep it
- Order records — 6 years (HMRC requires this for tax).
- Drawings & 3D models — kept while your order is active and for a short period afterwards in case of a reprint or complaint. Ask us and we'll delete them sooner.
- Account & mailing list — until you close your account or unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to stop using it for marketing. Email jds3dprints2017@gmail.com and we'll sort it within 30 days, free of charge.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
We only use cookies that are strictly necessary to run the site — keeping you logged in and remembering your basket. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, so there's no annoying banner.
